It may seem like I've been idle for a month, but that's not true! Not really true, anyway. I've finished two projects from the list in my last post. Tomorrow I'll show you another dress, but today here are some photos of the 1940s style french floral dress I made in that gorgeous fabric. I wore it to my friend's hens night with bright pink lipstick and black shoes.

I'm still not sure about the length, but everyone I've asked has said that they like the dress the way it is. Since I'm sooooo tall I think that the length of fabric needed for the long skirt seems like too much, even if I like that skirt length. If I was a few inches shorter but the skirt was the same just-over-the-knee length it would look better. I think that about a lot of things that I wear, but there's just not a lot I can do about it!
This dress has a three-quarter circle skirt, which I like. I'm not a fan of circle skirts unless the dress is full-on rockabilly and you go all the way dressing up (I have never done that—I would look ridiculous).
What's even better is that I made this from a custom pattern. And now that I know it works I can make so many more new dresses. The possibilities are so exciting!
PS The cute as bow I'm wearing is from Thera over at

I like this one! Well, the cut and colour, but perhaps not the grey flowers.
Beautiful! It's absolutely perfect! Great work!
It's absolutely gorgeous! I love the length & I'd say don't change a thing!
